Visualisation of conceptual models in physics
This clay sculpture is an attempt to add an extension to the representation of processes involving elementary particles in space-time. The mathematics of particle interaction is represented as 2D ‘trouser diagrams’ in Twistor Theory (similar to the trouser diagrams in String Theory), with one space and one time dimension. It provides a pictorial representation of how two free loops meet, interact, and emerge again as free loops. The number of holes within the trousers corresponds to the complexity of the interaction.
