I saw my Mum as a proper artist, she gave all her being to her ‘job’; empowering as Mother, Wife, Teacher, with absolute commitment.

Just as the meaning of her name Elpida, her exceptionally hopeful outlook towards life could be seen as naïve and idealistic, but this kind of simplified approach often revealed things in life that could otherwise have been missed or watered down, and Mum was never one to water things down.

She was able to retain a childlike purity of perception as an adult.
